Welcome to SpotNmy Heart Dalmatian's
Cameron is more than just a Dalmatian Breeder located in Oroville California. His journey with Dalmatians started in 2014, after more than a decade of researching the pros and cons associated with the breed. This dedication to understanding the nuances of Dalmatians showcases his commitment to responsible breeding and the well-being of his dogs today.
His involvement goes beyond the breeder's role; he is also deeply engaged in various canine sports and activities. From Conformation (showing) to FastCAT, Trick Dog, and Agility, he actively participates in events that create a unique bond between him and his Dalmatians. This bond extends to his puppy buyers, as he provides continued support through his knowledge, experiences, and encouragement to partake in community engagement with the breed.
In addition to competing, Cameron actively participates in canine programs that promote good behavior and skills. Serving as an evaluator for both AKC's Canine Good Citizen program and Trick Dog, he ensures that the dogs he breeds and others in the community meet high standards of temperament and training.
Cameron's mission is to contribute positively to the breed's future. This commitment is reflected in his involvement with various reputable organizations and programs. As a member of the Dalmatian Club of America (DCA) and the AKC's Bred with H.E.A.R.T Program, Cameron aligns himself with the highest standards of responsible breeding practices. His dedication has earned him the prestigious title of Breeder of Merit with the AKC, a testament to his commitment to excellence in breeding.
In his downtime, Cameron's commitment to the Dalmatian breed continues. Whether it's reading articles, studies, or pedigrees, he consistently seeks to expand his knowledge. This dedication ensures that his breeding practices remain informed and contribute positively to the overall betterment of the Dalmatian breed.
Cameron's story is a testament to the depth of passion, responsibility, and commitment required to be a reputable breeder, advocate, and enthusiast for a beloved Dalmatian breed.
The Dalmatian breed faces inherent health challenges, notably deafness—common among white breeds—and hyperuricosuria, associated with elevated uric acid levels leading to uric stones.
In our commitment to advancing the breed, we prioritize addressing these significant health issues. All our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, and the results are publicly disclosed through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA). We exclusively breed dogs with impeccable bilateral hearing, and we selectively pair dogs possessing the potential to pass on the Low Uric Acid (LUA) gene.
While the LUA gene cannot be guaranteed, its promotion is deemed crucial to our breeding practices, as it contributes to mitigating the risk of uric stones. Our overarching goal is to enhance the breed with each successive generation, advocating for the highest standards of health and genetic integrity in Dalmatians.
Brett's appreciation for the Dalmatian breed blossomed when he began dating Cameron in 2014. Witnessing Cameron's deep passion for Dalmatians allowed Brett to experience firsthand the loyalty, playfulness, and affection that define these remarkable dogs. While Brett isn't actively involved in competitive events, he finds fulfillment in the behind-the-scenes aspects, such as organizing outings to wine tours, camping trips, and hikes. Together, they cherish quiet moments at home and enthusiastically attend AKC sporting events.
Although Brett is primarily a spectator at AKC events and rarely partakes in competitions, he takes great joy in cheering on the Dalmatians they directly own and co-own. His genuine enthusiasm extends to supporting puppy buyers in achieving their goals and supporting a strong bond with their furry companions. Brett's role, though not in the spotlight, plays a vital part in the shared love and appreciation for the Dalmatian breed and our bloodline.
At SpotNmy Heart Dals, we hold ourselves to the highest standards when it comes to placing our puppies. Our mission is to ensure the best match possible—not just for the owner, but most importantly, for each puppy. Every puppy we place is sold on contract, with a commitment that they will always be returned to us if they ever need to be rehomed.
While we’re proud of the lasting connections we create, we understand that not all Dalmatians are given this kind of lifelong promise by their breeder. A few years ago, one of our very own co-owners, Isobel Jones, and her husband, Jeffrey M. Jones, not only supported responsible breeding, but also opened their home to foster Dals in need. Inspired by their compassion and dedication, we realized that our kennel could do more to support rescue efforts by helping to spotlight Dalmatians currently in foster care and looking for forever homes.
Though we may not have direct ties to these individual dogs, we’re honored to show our support for the rescues behind them. We know that for some families, an older, already-trained Dalmatian might be the perfect fit—and we’re happy to help guide those connections.
Because at SpotNmy Heart, it’s not just about breeding—it’s about a lifelong promise of love, care, and community.
